It does contain gold micro shimmer but when dusted with a big fluffy brush all over the face it looks glorious and it does sett the makeup nicely and diffuses imperfections. This is an amazing product it reminds me of the colour mosaic bronzes from Laura mercier and Bobbi brown colour bricks.
